Housekeeper

Key Responsibilities

Cleaning and Hygiene

Clean and sanitise resident bedrooms, bathrooms, and communal areas to a high standard. Ensure all areas of the home are maintained in a clean, tidy, and presentable condition. Follow strict infection control procedures at all times. Use cleaning equipment and chemicals safely and in accordance with guidelines. Dispose of waste safely and in line with infection control and environmental policies.

Laundry Services

Wash, dry, iron, and return residents' clothing and linen in a timely manner. Ensure all laundry is correctly labelled and handled with care. Maintain cleanliness and organisation of laundry areas. Manage soiled linen safely and hygienically.

Stock Control and Supplies

Order cleaning materials, toiletries, and housekeeping supplies as required. Monitor stock levels and ensure essential items are always available. Store cleaning products safely and securely. Minimise waste and use resources efficiently.

Resident Support

Ensure residents' rooms are clean, comfortable, and personalised to their preferences. Respect residents' privacy, dignity, and personal belongings at all times. Respond to resident requests regarding cleaning or room comfort where appropriate. Work sensitively in a care environment, supporting a homely atmosphere.

Team Working

Work closely with care staff and management to ensure smooth daily operations. Communicate effectively regarding cleaning priorities and resident needs. Support colleagues to maintain high standards across the home. Contribute to a positive, respectful, and supportive working environment.

Health and Safety

Comply with all health and safety regulations and home policies. Report any hazards, maintenance issues, or concerns promptly. Ensure safe use and storage of cleaning chemicals and equipment. Follow manual handling procedures when moving laundry or equipment.
