Dentist / Associate Dentist (O912939)

Wider duties will include:

Clinical Care:

Undertake comprehensive dental examinations, assessments and diagnosis Develop appropriate, evidence-based treatment plans in partnership with patients Provide general dental treatment to NHS and private patients within the dentist's scope of practice and level of competence Provide preventative, restorative and routine dental care as clinically appropriate Discuss treatment options, risks, benefits and costs with patients and obtain valid consent before treatment Refer patients appropriately where treatment falls outside the dentist's scope of practice or requires specialist care Monitor patients' oral health and provide appropriate preventive and oral health advice Recognise and appropriately manage urgent dental presentations Patient Care and Communication

Maintain a professional, respectful and patient-centred approach at all times Communicate clearly with patients and colleagues, taking account of individual needs and circumstances Provide patients with appropriate information to enable them to make informed decisions regarding their dental care Maintain confidentiality and comply with relevant data protection requirements Respond appropriately to patient concerns and complaints and escalate matters where required Clinical Records and Governance

Maintain accurate, contemporaneous and complete clinical records Comply with practice policies, clinical governance requirements and relevant regulatory standards Maintain appropriate infection prevention and control standards Follow safeguarding procedures and raise concerns appropriately Participate in clinical audit, quality improvement and practice governance activities as required Report and manage clinical incidents and adverse events in accordance with practice procedures
