Welder

This is a practical, hands-on role carrying out welding and associated works across a range of projects, with responsibility for overseeing steel installation works and ensuring they are completed safely, accurately and to the required standard.

The successful candidate will be confident working independently and as part of a wider team, producing high-quality work while following technical specifications and appropriate health and safety procedures.

Key Responsibilities

Carrying out welding work to the required standard Managing and overseeing steel installation works on assigned projects Reading and working from drawings, measurements and technical specifications Preparing materials and components for welding Cutting, shaping and joining metal components as required Inspecting completed work to ensure required quality standards are achieved Operating welding equipment safely and correctly Identifying defects and completing repairs or corrective work where required Maintaining tools, equipment and working areas Following all health and safety procedures Working effectively with other trades and members of the FIXT team Supporting wider building and project works where required
