We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Operating Room (OR) Nurse to join a leading healthcare organization in Dubai. The OR Nurse will provide safe, efficient, and evidence-based nursing care throughout the surgical process, ensuring patient safety, effective infection control, and smooth coordination of surgical procedures. The ideal candidate should have strong perioperative nursing experience, excellent attention to detail, and the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced surgical environment.
Key Responsibilities Provide comprehensive perioperative nursing care to patients before, during, and after surgical procedures. Prepare the operating room, surgical instruments, equipment, supplies, and medications according to the planned procedure. Perform pre-operative patient assessments and verify patient identification, surgical procedure, consent, allergies, and other required documentation. Assist the surgical team during procedures by maintaining a safe, sterile, and well-organized operating environment. Perform scrub and circulating nurse responsibilities as required, including instrument handling, surgical counts, specimen management, and documentation. Maintain strict aseptic and infection prevention practices throughout surgical procedures. Monitor patients’ vital signs, clinical condition, and response to anesthesia and surgical interventions, escalating any concerns promptly. Assist anesthesiologists and surgeons during induction, positioning, surgical procedures, and emergency interventions. Ensure accurate counting and reconciliation of surgical instruments, needles, sponges, and other materials before, during, and after procedures. Handle, label, document, and appropriately transfer surgical specimens in accordance with hospital policies. Operate and monitor surgical equipment and assist with the preparation of specialized equipment required for different procedures. Provide post-operative nursing care and safely transfer patients to the recovery area or other appropriate clinical unit. Maintain accurate and timely documentation of patient care, surgical procedures, medications, equipment, and intraoperative events. Ensure compliance with hospital policies, surgical safety standards, infection control requirements, and applicable healthcare regulations. Participate in surgical safety briefings, quality improvement initiatives, clinical audits, case reviews, and continuing professional development activities.
