The States of Guernsey are looking for ato join the Health Protection team within Public Health Services.
An exciting opportunity has arisen for an enthusiastic and motivated Clinical Health Protection Practitioner to join our Health Protection team. This post is open to nurses, midwives or allied health professionals registered with either the Nursing and Midwifery Council (NMC) or Health and Care Professions Council (HCPC). The post plays a key role in protecting and improving public health through the prevention, surveillance, investigation and management of communicable diseases, outbreaks and other health protection incidents.
Working as part of a specialist multidisciplinary team, you will contribute to health protection programmes, provide expert advice to professionals and the public, support outbreak management, and help develop effective partnerships across health and care services.
This post is available as either a Band 6 position for candidates who already meet the full essential criteria, including a recognised qualification in health protection, or as a Band 5 Development Post for Registered Professionals who have a strong interest in health protection and wish to develop their expertise in this specialist field.
Candidates appointed at Band 5 will receive structured support, supervision and development opportunities, including access to relevant training, to enable them to achieve the competencies and qualifications required for Band 6. Progression to Band 6 salary and responsibilities will occur once the required criteria have been successfully met and assessed.
